As soon as I found out that Elaine was selling prints, I was so excited to get one for myself. The print quality is fantastic, most people assume it's the original piece, and I don't correct them! Anyone who's been in my home has always complimented that piece, and I can't wait to add more of Elaine's work to my collection.

For me, this is a painting that captures a moment in the heat of the South: the languor of the day slowing down the tempo of our modern lives. It is an evocation of tranquillity in a city space. It conjures the light and heat of the day, the contrast of cool, dark shadows created by the darkness of the doorway and the promise of a cool refuge within.

I love this captivating image of life in an Istanbul suburb. Elaine captures the dazzling light and a sense of place with delightful little collaged clothes against a strongly contrasting background. I was too late to buy the original at her exhibition but glad that high quality giclée prints were on hand to custom frame myself.
