Why commission a bespoke artwork?

Would you love to be reminded of a special place?
Can you imagine a portrait that captures personality and interests as well as a likeness?
What about a still life featuring your favourite flowers?
Do you need an artwork to enhance a particular place, such as a living room, bedroom, or workspace?
Are you an interior designer, hotelier, or restauranteur who needs something specific to compliment a space?
Do you have an art lover friend or relative who would really appreciate a special artwork as a gift?

Commissions are available at a range of price points, from small collage drawings to large scale mixed-media paintings.

The creative brief

First we meet in person or online over a coffee, and discuss your requirements.

Our discussion will include the size of the work, the subject, and any elements of my previous work that inspire you.

I take detailed notes and follow up in writing with a quote, including the timescales.

I send you a contract that you sign and return.

You make the first payment of 50% and I start the artwork.

While the work is in progress

I send you progress pictures for review at important stages.

Throughout the process, I consult you about important details, and anything that needs double-checking.

For large scale pieces, I ask for a second payment of 25% at this stage.

The big reveal

This is the really exciting part! When your artwork is complete, I send you images, including close-ups for final review.

After the final review, you make the last payment. I then send you the artwork by courier, tracked and insured. Alternatively, it can be collected from my studio or delivered locally - I give a discount for this option.

Important information

Commissions can be little more expensive than an existing artwork of a similar size. This is because the process involves research, meetings, and other communications that take time to ensure that you are 100% happy with your artwork.

As commissions are bespoke and cannot be resold, they are non-returnable.
